Volleyball game postponed

October 14, 2011 - Chuck Hunt
A volleyball game scheduled for last night, Oct. 13, between the BEA Buccaneers and the Waseca Bluejays was postponed. Originally the game was set to be a half hour late due to the fact that there was a funeral yesterday for a 16-year-old Waseca girl who was killed in a tragic car accident. Then, the Waseca coach called and said the their team would not be able to play under the circumstances. They were willing to forfeit. But, the conference committee was opposed to that. The match could have implications as to which team would become the South Central Conference champions. The Buccaneers are in the running with one loss. If it becomes necessary for the Bucs to play Waseca in order to win the conference crown outright, then that match will more than likely be played on Monday, Oct. 24. The Bucs have a game already scheduled for that night against Windom, a non-conference foe. The team from Windom has already been contacted and is willing to bow out of Monday's contest should the Bucs need to play Waseca. That determination will be made this coming Tuesday, Oct. 18. Chances are the Buccaneers will be playing a volleyball match on Monday, Oct. 24. The question is, will they be on the road to Windom, or will they be at home hosting Waseca. Stay tuned.
