BEA 1st at Maple River

The Buc girls track and field team dominated the competition to take home the team title at the Maple River Invite held April 24 in Mapleton.

BEA?finished with 151.5 points, well ahead to second-place Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial-Nicollet with 85.

Senior Marissia Hagedorn again led BEA with three individual first-place performances.

She had a winning time of 15.51 seconds in the 100-meter high hurdles.

Hagedorn was clocked in 46.68 seconds in the 300-meter low hurdles, which is second best all-time outdoors.

Taylor Grandgenett was third in the 300-meter lows in 48.99 seconds and fourth in the 100-meter highs with 17.45. She also added a third-place finish in the high jump, clearing the bar at 4 feet, 4 inches.

In the pole vault, Hagedorn topped the field with 10 feet, 6 inches, while Chante Anderson took second with 8-0.

Karli Olsen won two individual events.

Her time of 61.65 seconds was the fastest in the 400-meter dash. Shayna Stevermer posted a third-place time of 63.90 seconds.

Olsen led a trio of Bucs finishing in the top five in the long jump with a winning-distance of 14 feet, 8 3/4 inches.

Taking fourth with a leap of 13 feet, 8 3/4 inches was Skylee Bell, just ahead of Miranda Johnson in fifth place with 13 feet, 8 1/2 inches.

Sara Warmka's mark of 29 feet was fourth overall in the triple jump.

In the sprints, Skylee Bell was second in the 100-meter dash in 13.33 seconds, and Anne Franta took second in the 200-meter dash in 27 seconds.

Krista Hassing covered two laps in 2:21.41 to win the 800-meter run.

The Bucs took second place in the 3,200-meter run with Courtney Grandgenett posting a time of 12:51.15, while Mariah Halvorson was fourth in 13:22.41.

Signe Olson crossed the finish line in 6:18.97 to take fifth in the 1,600-meter run.

BEA's Taylor Grandgenett (61.9), Stevermer (62.9), Karli Olsen (61.8) and Hassing (59.6) combined for a winning time of 4:06.54 in the 4 x 400 relay.
