Gymnasts hosts meet at Winnebago

The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team continues to show strength on the vault after they hosted their home invitational last weekend, despite falling behind the other two teams.

Jackson County Central and Martin County Area schools joined BEA on Saturday, Dec. 8, to compete in Winnebago.

JCC came out on top with an overall team score of 135.425. MCA?placed second as a team with 130.55 which left BEA in last place with a score of 122.025.

The vault ended up being the only event the Buccaneer gymnasts placed in.

Haley Resutek placed third with a score of 8.675. BEA’s Christina Anderson also scored 8.675, and placed fourth.

Rebecca Steen from MCA took the top spot on the vault with a score of 9.2.

Resutek and Cassie Thompson both scored 31.25 in all-around but did not place.

Sydnee Donnelli, a JCC?gymnast, placed first in all-around with a score of 35.4.

JCC took the top three spots in the uneven bars. MCA took the fourth place position in that event.

In the floor event, JCC?placed three gymnasts again. A gymnast from MCA?took second place but the rest of the spots were filled by JCC.

The BEA JV?gymnastics team also struggled to place in events and ended up taking third during the Buc Invite.

JCC took first with a score of 126.075, MCC?came in second at 118.775 and BEA had a score of 93.4.

Jenna Steele of MCA?took first for all-around with a score of 28.325.

Gracie Leland took second place at 23.90 and Malorie Huber placed third for all-around with a score of 23.35.

The Buccaneer gymnasts competed at JCC?on Friday, Dec. 14 and won’t compete again until after the holiday break.
