Nylene L. Holmseth, 81
Frost Nylene L. Holmseth, age 81, of Frost, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. Funeral Services were held June 7, 2014, at 11 a.m. at South Blue Earth Lutheran Church in rural Bricelyn. The Rev. Arne Halbakken officiated and burial was in the church cemetery – Seely Township, Faribault County. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn was in charge of arrangements.
Nylene Lucille Holmseth was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Blue Earth, the daughter of Otis and Mildred (Peterson) Hougen. May 2, 1953, Nylene was united in marriage to Laurice A. “Laurie” Holmseth at Shiloh Lutheran Church in Elmore. She was a long-time member of South Blue Earth Lutheran Church, and active on many committees through the years. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping and a little golf. She cherished her family and friends and enjoyed visiting with them.
Nylene is survived by her children, Brian (Dawn) Holmseth, Steven (Nancy) Holmseth, Diane (Dan) Amundson, all of Frost, Sharon (Scott) Determan, of Blue Earth, and Amy Renger (fianc, Jason Lowe), of Bancroft, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, Jon Holmseth, Owen (Karen) Holmseth, Joseph Holmseth (fianc, Ashley Poganski), Ryan (Kerri) Amundson, Laura (Bryce) Hanson, Jenny Holmseth, Katelyn Renger, MacKenzie Determan, Rachel Renger, and Lucas Determan; two great-grandchildren, Taylynn and Brynlee Amundson; mother-in-law, Clara Holmseth, of Blue Earth; three sisters, Mavis Northwick, of Blue Earth, Beverly (Frank) Kitzman, of New Ulm, and Erma (Bud) Schwab, of Winnebago; three brothers-in-law, Dick (Mavis) Holmseth, of Blue Earth, Bob (Idalice) Holmseth, of Frost, and Chuck (Kay) Holmseth, of Bricelyn; one sister-in-law, Jean Hougen, of Blue Earth; along with many nieces and nephews and their families.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Laurice; father-in-law, Lawrence Holmseth; sister, Mavis (Andy) Anderson; and two brothers-in-law, Jerry Hougen and Mike Northwick.
Memorials preferred to South Blue Earth Cemetery Association, Faribault County Hospice, or St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center.
