By Staff | Oct 27, 2014

Unfortunately, the Bucs fell quickly to their opponents in a 3-0 match, with set scores of 25-12, 25-4 and 25-11.

The Knights will now move on to the next round of Sub Section at Mankato East High School where they will play Tri City United at 6 p.m.

However, the maroon and gold will end their season here with a 2-26 overall season record.

As coach Donna Nawrocki predicted at the beginning of the season, the age of the team was going to be a big factor.

“We will take some hits because of our youth,” the coach had said.

But, she also added that although they were young, they were athletic and that showed throughout the season.

“They have done well this season,” Nawrocki said. “And the younger girls have gotten a lot of experience.”

This was reflected down to the very last game of the season in Kenyon.

Freshman Alissa Norman had eight set assists and five digs.

Lindsey Norman, also a freshman, had five digs and was one of three Buc players to tally two kills at the net.

Samantha Ripley led the team with ace blocks with two and also had two kills.

Samantha Barslou and Elizabeth Ellis had one ace block each. Barslou also had two kills.

Sophomore Kaylor Jacobs had four digs.

Devyn Braunshausen led the team in serves. She had a perfect 5 for 5 serving and accounted for three points.
