Iola “Maxine” Olson, 86

Bricelyn Iola “Maxine” Olson, age 86, of Bricelyn, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Home in Blue Earth. Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015 at Bricelyn Lutheran Church. Interment was in Bricelyn Lutheran Cemetery in Seely Township, Faribault County. Pastor Arne Halbakken officiated.

Iola Maxine Twedt was born Jan. 15, 1928 the daughter of Emil and Mildred (Husby) Twedt in Walters. She graduated from Frost High School. Maxine married Franklin “Bud” Olson, Nov. 5, 1949 at Bethany Lutheran Church in rural Frost. After their marriage Maxine and Bud moved to Bricelyn where they raised their family. She was a cook at Bricelyn school district and later was employed by Winnebago Industries in Forest City, Iowa until her retirement. Maxine was a longtime member of Bricelyn Lutheran Church and was active in quilting and circle. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, baking, camping and time spent with family and friends.

Maxine is survived by her children, Dan (Mary) Olson, of Joshua, Texas, and David (Kari) Olson, of Watertown; grandchildren, Michael (Emily) Olson, of Hereford, Texas, Brett Olson, of Joshua,Texas, Andrew Olson of Montrose, and Lauren Olson of Beaumont, Texas; great-grandchildren, Mattie Wisdom, Gunnar Olson and John Clayton Olson; brother Marion (Janet) Twedt, of Frost; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bud in 1998; brother, Erling (Helen) Twedt; sister, Edna (LaMar) Anderson.
