Colette Emery, 76

Blue Earth Colette Emery, age 76, of Blue Earth, died Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2014, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Blue Earth. Rev. Peter Klein officiated. Inurnment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Blue Earth.

Colette was born on June 27, 1938 in Trim, Ireland to Peter and Josephine (Cumiskey) Rogers. Colette grew up in Kells, Co. Meath, Ireland where she attended The Convent of Mercy School. Colette then worked for the Tara Shoe factory in Kells, where she branded the factory name on the shoes, once she accidently branded herself. Around the age of eighteen she moved to Croydon, Surry England. Colette had several jobs, generally in electronic assembly. Making friends in and around London brought her much joy, eventually meeting Randolph Emery. They were married at St. Joseph’s RC Church in Bracknell, Berks England. They were blessed with a son, Aaran Terrance Karl and a daughter, Penny Lane. After living in High Wycomby, England they moved to Blue Earth for one year and then back to Marlow, England where they were blessed with their daughter Tammy Jean. In 1978, Colette and her family returned to Minnesota where they lived in Elmore and later moved to Blue Earth. One of Colette’s greatest pleasures was making friends which she was very good at and had many.

Those left to cherish her memory include, her devoted husband, Randolph Emery, of Blue Earth; son Aaron (Jennifer) Emery, of Temecula, Calif.; daughters, Penny (Aaron) Hartmann, of Granada, and Tammy Kelly, of Blue Earth; grandchildren, Kurt and Seth Stauffer, Jordan and Kelsey Boettcher, Mason, Lily and Nathan Emery; great-grandchildren, Gavin and Jackson; brothers, Francie Rogers and Johnny (May) Rogers, both of Kells, Ireland; and many nieces and nephews scattered throughout England, Ireland, Australia and the USA.
