Mildred G. Nesbit, 87

Blue Earth Mildred (Millie) Geraldine Nesbit passed into God’s hands from natural causes at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center on Jan. 24, 2015, in Blue Earth, at the age of 87.

The funeral was held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth on Wednesday, Jan. 28, the Rev. Brent Walker officiated. Burial followed at Riverside Cemetery.

Millie was born on Feb. 26, 1927, in Blue Earth, to George and Mable Hanke. She graduated from Blue Earth in 1945. She married Richard Nesbit in April of 1946 and they spent 42 wonderful years together. Millie and Dick made their home in Blue Earth and had two children. Millie worked at the local telephone company for 50 years and always offered her appreciation for her job and the joy she had in working there. Millie touched the lives of many people with her smile, generosity and zest for life. Millie loved to bake, spend time with her family, work on her yard and visit with all members of the community. Millie was a dedicated wife, involved mother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a wonderful example of faith, hope and charity. Millie maintained her trademark sense of humor to the end and will be greatly missed. The family wants to express their deepest appreciation to St. Luke’s Lutheran Care staff and the wonderful care they provided to Millie in her last years of life.

Millie is survived by her children, Ross (Kathy) Nesbit, of Le Sueur, and Ron Nesbit, of Blue Earth; sister, Elaine Wiederholt, of Blue Earth, and brother Gerald (Evelyn) Henke, of Blue Earth; seven grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard; sisters, Alice Mae Erdmann, and Marilyn Meyering; brother, Jerome Hanke; and daughter-in-law, Gaye Nesbit.
