Henrik K. Hendrickson, 87

Frost Henrik Kenneth Luther Hendrickson, age 87, of Frost, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church in Frost. Visitation will be Friday, May 15 from 4-7 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Bricelyn.

Henrik was born Feb. 26, 1928 in Lyon County, the son of Peter and Martha (Bratland) Hendrickson. He married Ruth Knutson on April 11, 1964 in Door County, Wis. Henrik was proud of his Scandinavian heritage. The couple traveled extensively to Norway, Sweden, as well as Iceland and South Africa. Henrik took an interest in the stock market and was a farmer all his life. He was involved in community service, a Farm Bureau member and a member of the St. Luke’s Board for many years. He was a very active member at Bethany Lutheran Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher, and President of the congregation. Henrik was also a “55 Alive” instructor for five years.

Henrik is survived by his wife Ruth, of Frost; two sons, Peter Hendrickson, of Maine; Marcus (wife Margy) Hendrickson, of Mankato; one granddaughter: Naiya; three grandsons: Joshua, Lucas and Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and elderly cousins.
