Buccaneer girl golfers win by 51 strokes

A rock solid start.

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer girls golf team started off the season on the right track with a 51 stroke victory margin over the Maple River Eagles.

The Bucs came in with a 228 team total to the Eagles’ 279, on the Riverside Town & Country Club Golf Course on Monday afternoon, April 4.

The Buccaneers were led by ninth-grader Claire Jordan who shot a 55 for the nine holes and took medalist honors for the meet.

Buc senior Natali Fellows was just one stroke back at 56 and junior Ashley Petersen was one back of Fellows with a 57.

Ninth grader Mateja Lane carded a 60 to complete the Bucs team score of 228.

The Eagles were led by Kate Larson who shot a 59. Jordan Willis came in with a 69, Taylor Schnoor shot a 73 and Ashley Hawker a 78 to complete the Eagles scoring.

Next up for the Buccaneers is a home meet this Friday, April 15, at the Minn-Iowa Golf Course in Elmore. They will be hosting Martin County West.

They will travel to St. Peter on Monday, April 18.
