Donna Steinhauer

Wells Donna Mae Steinhauer, age 92, of Wells, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016 at The Shepherd’s Inn in Wells. A funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 5, 2016, at 11 a.m. at United Lutheran Church in Walters, Rev. Don Rose officiated. Interment was at Rosehill Cemetery in Wells.

Donna was born Jan. 30, 1924, in Walnut Lake Township, Faribault County, the daughter of Edward and Rose (Salzmann) Barnick. She was united in marriage to Marvin Steinhauer June 10, 1942, and to this union three children were born. The couple later divorced. Donna was a homemaker and worked for many years at Swift-Eckrich in Wells. She enjoyed shopping, visiting with her friends and decorating her home. Donna was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Walters, Wells American Legion and the VFW Auxiliary.

She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter Ruth Ann (Steinhauer) Haugen; and step-grandson Wade Haugen; brothers, Richard, Robert, Jack and Henry Barnick; sisters, Janice Schieck, Mary Coy and Lois Thisius.

Donna is survived by her sons, Larry (Jean) Steinhauer, of Wells, and Randy (Monica) Steinhauer, of Walters; son-in-law, Arlowe Haugen, of Apple Valley; grandchildren, Kevin (Alison) Steinhauer, of Frost, Tim Steinhauer (special friend, Taryn Seberg), of Aitken, Daniel (Danielle) Steinhauer of Frost, Brent (Tanya) Haugen, of Brainerd, Brandon Haugen (special friend, Melissa Ashmun), of Rosemount, Lexi (Jason) Adams, of Rosemount, Ann (Jeff) Olson, of Stewartville, Lee (Hilary) Steinhauer, of Minnetonka, Lon (Jill) Steinhauer, of Bricelyn, and Amy Williams (special friend, Joe Spears), of Albert Lea; great-grandchildren, Matthew Krause, Laura Steinhauer, Mya and Mason Steinhauer, Jordan, Donovan, Ellie, Hannah, and Ruby Haugen, Skylar Stamper, Josiah and Nathaniel Haugen, Tanner, Hunter and Karley Olson, Macy Williams, and Brody and Carter Steinhauer; brother, Harold (Dorothy) Barnick, of Lake Crystal; sister-in-law, Bessie Barnick, of Wells; many nieces, nephews and their families.
