The Faribault County Sheriff’s Office will be conducting a public sale of the following personal property by public auction on April 22, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at 126 Main St. South, 128 Main St. South and 130 Main St. South in Blue Earth. The sale on that date will include the following: 31 pianos of various brands and ages, most built before 1940; 9 organs of different types and ages; miscellaneous piano and organ parts, other miscellaneous furniture items including a sewing machine cabinet and folding tables and chairs and filing cabinets; and personal property items including old wooden doors, old steam radiators, miscellaneous theater staging and old Main Street business signs; miscellaneous kerosene lamp globes and parts; miscellaneous stain and opaque glass pieces, among other items. BLUE EARTH AREA SCHOOL BOARD PROCEEDINGS

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, March 13, 2017, in Blue Earth, MN.

Present were School Board members: J. Coxworth, S. Hauskins, J. Haugh, S. Ripley, and S. Benz. Also Attending were Supt. Gough, principals, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Vice Chair Haugh. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

On a Ripley/Patten motion, the Board approved the agenda.

Public Input: Marlene Hanson, Kim Warner, Angela Murphy, Sue Ellingsen, Zac Huntley, Paul Johnson and Dr. Aaron Johnson each addressed the Board regarding staff reductions in art.

On a Benz/Hauskins motion the Board unanimously approved the minutes from the February meeting.

The Board approved eight money transfers in the amount of $1,338,509. Hauskins/Ripley motion.

Action Items:

Allen Wilhelmi reported to the Board regarding the revised budget.

On a Ripley/Benz motion the Board approved the Budget Revisions for FY17.

The Board approved a Resolution to Discontinue Positions and Curtail Programs. Ripley/Benz motion. Voting in favor were Hauskins, Haugh, Ripley and Benz. Voting against were Coxworth and Patten.

On a Hauskins/Ripley motion the Board approved a Resolution Relating to the Termination and Nonrenewal of the Teaching Contract of a Probationary Teacher. Voting in favor were Coxworth, Hauskins, Haugh, Ripley, Patten and Benz.

A Contract Service Agreement with Donald Sonnicksen was approved on a Patten/Benz motion.

Personnel:

The following hire was approved on a Coxworth/Hauskins motion: Jacob Burgett, Custodian, B-2-1

The following policies were approved on a Hauskins/Patten motion. Policy 503, 504, 505, 507, 508, 509, 510, 511, 512 & 514. Policies can be found at: www.blueearth.k12.mn.us/page/4192.

On a Hauskins/Coxworth motion, the meeting was adjourned at 8:18pm.
