Marilyn M. Duderstadt, 82

Blue Earth Private family services for Marilyn M. Duderstadt, age 82, of Truman, formerly of Elmore, will be held at a later date with burial held in Pender, Nebraska. Marilyn passed away Monday evening, April 10, 2017, at Truman Senior Living in Truman.

Marilyn Mae (French) Duderstadt was born on May 27, 1934, in West Point, Nebraska, the daughter of Roy and Lanora (Albaugh) French. Marilyn attended school in West Point and Pender and graduated from high school before attending two years of college.

She was united in marriage to John Allen Duderstadt in West Point, and to this union, two children were born, Taylor and John. Together the couple would later move to Yorktown, Texas, and also Elmore, where the couple farmed. Marilyn worked as a nursing home attendant, motel attendant, and also as a bookkeeper for the family business. After her retirement in 1995, Marilyn and John returned to Texas where they enjoyed the nice weather year round. Following John's passing, Marilyn returned to Minnesota making her home in Truman, to be closer to family.

In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed working with ceramics, painting, and her pets. She loved to travel and cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of the Elmore Lutheran Church and also the Yorktown United Methodist Church. Marilyn will be greatly missed by those that loved her and called her a friend.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Taylor (Elaine) Duderstadt, of Lawrenceville, Georgia; and John (Lisa) Duderstadt, of Truman; four grandchildren, John, Sara, Taylor, and Michelle; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Larry (Paula) French and Mel (Wilma) French; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Lanora French; husband, John Allen Duderstadt; and a brother, Bob French.

The Lakeview Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Fairmont is assisting the family with arrangements.
