It just might be the biggest and best Women of Worth Expo yet.

The 13th annual Expo is set for Saturday, Nov, 4, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Blue Earth Area High School.

"This year we have 50 vendors coming to set up," says Sonja Willmert, the president of the Southern Minnesota Women of Worth group. "That is the most we have ever had. In fact, it is the most we can have, due to space limitations."

The Women of Worth committee is also very excited about their special guest speaker, Holly Hoffman.

Hoffman is an inspirational and motivational speaker from South Dakota. And, she is famous for being a "Survivor Nicaragua" season 21 finalist.

"People who have heard Holly speak say she is phenomenal," Willmert says. "She speaks about attitude, determination, confidence, desire, faith and perseverance. We expect a big crowd will come to hear her talk."

After graduation from her hometown high school in Eureka, South Dakota, Hoffman attended Northern State University where she met her husband Charlie.

Together they built and continue to manage a ranch in north central South Dakota and are the parents of three grown children and grandparents of one.

Hoffman is the author of a book entitled "Your Winner Within."

Hoffman's speech happens at 1 p.m. during the Expo.

At 11:30 a.m., it is time for the Makeover Reveal.

This year, the group has just one person who is participating in the Makeover. That one person is Mary Laabs, who works at Interfaith Caregivers. And, Willmert says, Laabs is very deserving of having the makeover process.

One part of the makeover is a whole new wardrobe, which this year is being supplied by White Orchid of Fairmont. They will also be having a style show as part of the Makeover Reveal.

As in all the 13 years it is has been held, admission to the Women of Worth Expo is free. They do accept free will donations at the door, and all proceeds raised from the expo are donated to the Faribault County Domestic Violence Program.

"Women of Worth was created for the good and betterment of families of rural southern Minnesota," their mission statement points out. "Through continuing education about abuse, neglect and violence that takes place in the rural area, along with financial support of programs designed to help all victims of abuse."

Willmert says there is a very dedicated and hard-working group on the Women of Worth committee. They include: Kristin Woodwick - vice president, Misty Wolf - secretary, Lynn Frandle - treasurer, Carolyn Zierke, Laura Weness, Merry McGowan, Kathy Johnson, Katie Mullaly, Barb Twedt, Stacy Scofield and Heather Hernandez.
