The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer volleyball team opened up Section 2AA Tournament action in fine fashion last Thursday night. The No. 3 seed in the south sub-section Bucs swept the No. 6 seeded Maple River Eagles 3-0 on the Bucs' home court.

Now BEA will advance to the next round, a match against No. 2 seed St. Peter on Tuesday night which will be played at Mankato East High School.

While the Bucs blanked the Eagles last Thursday, it was not as easy as it sounds. Two of the games were close and only one was not.
