January 28, 2018
Chuck Hunt - Register Editor , Faribault County Register

An elderly Winnebago woman was found dead outside her home after last Monday's blizzard.

Guylet May Germain, 90, of Winnebago, was found outside the back door of her home at 312 Cleveland Ave. at 10:56 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 23.

A 911 call had been placed calling for help for a possible deceased female in the snow, according to a news release from the Faribault County Sherif's Office. The report states it appears that Germain had been trying to clear the snow away from her gas meter with a broom before she passed away.

Cause of death information or how long she had been outside before her body was discovered was not released.

Assisting the Faribault County Sherifs Office at the scene was the Winnebago Police Department and the Winnebago Ambulance Service.
