BEA falls short at Section Gymnastics

It was a very late night for the Blue Earth Area gymnastics team during their sections meet last week. The team traveled to Waconia for the Section 2AA gymnastics meet where the girls competed well into the evening.

Waconia placed first with 141.950 with Mankato West placing second with 139.125 points, and New Ulm placing third with 132.5 points. Blue Earth Area's team total score was 116.075, behind St. Peter, Waseca, Mankato East, Glencoe, and Faribault.

In the vault competition, the BEA?gymnasts competed as follows: Haley Kalis scored an 8.3, Arianna Nagel earned a 7.625, Melissa Hagedorn came away with a 7.55, and Sydney Blagg tallied a 7.475.

In uneven parallel bars: Kalis earned a 7.55, Hagedorn earned a 6.35, Nagel averaged a 5.9, while Jazmyn Lunz earned a 5.5.

During the beam event, Blagg was awarded a 7.75 while teammate Hagedorn had a 7.6. Nagel received a 7.325, and Izzy Walker scored a 6.95.

In floor, Hagedorn earned an 8.175 while teammate Kalis came away with an 8.15. Lunz was awarded a 6.975 while teammate Nagel averaged 6.9.

For the All-Around category, Kalis tallied the most points for BEA with a total of 30.8 points. Hagedorn was right behind with a 29.675 total, and Nagel earned a 27.75.
