Buccaneer girls split two golf meets

Blue Earth Area defeats Martin County West, loses to Waseca

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer girls golf team hosted the Martin County West Mavericks on the Minn-Iowa Golf Course in Elmore last Thursday afternoon.

And, the Buc girls once again hit their scoring goal of breaking 200, and came out with a big 196 to 253 win.

Claire Jordan led the Buccaneers with a score of 45, which also gave her medalist honors for the meet.

Both Mateja Lane and Malarie Scholtes came in with identical scores of 49. Serina Wirth carded a 53 which rounded out BEA's team tally of 196.

The other varsity scores were Maddie Armon with a 56 and Olivia Stewart with a 58.

Next up for the Buccaneers is the Big South Conference Tourney at Waseca on Monday, May 21.

Waseca 193, BEA 207

On a perfect day for golf on Tuesday, May 15, the Blue Earth Area Buccaneer girls golf team hosted the Waseca Bluejays at the Riverside Town & Country Club course.

Despite the perfect weather conditions, the Bucs struggled a bit against the 'Jays, and lost by a score of 193 to 207.

Leading the way for the maroon and gold was Mateja Lane, who came in with 46.

Claire Jordan carded a 53 for a score, while both Malarie Scholtes and Olivia Stewart came in with identical scores of 54.

Other BEA varsity players were Maddie Armon with a 60 and Serina Wirth with 60.

Medalist for the meet was Kaitlin Altmann of Waseca, who shot a 44.
