The regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, April 8, 2019, in Blue Earth, MN.

Present were School Board members: F. Bly, J. Coxworth, S. Hauskins, S. Benz, S. Rosenau, S. Beyer, and K. Zierke. Also attending were Supt. Jerry Jensen, principals, members of the press, staff and public.

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by Chairperson Susan Benz. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited.

The agenda was approved on a Beyer/Bly motion. 7-0 vote.

On a Hauskins/Beyer motion, the Board accepted the Notice of Desire to Negotiate with the BEAEA for 19-20 and 20-21 school years. 7-0 vote.

The Hauskins/Zierke motion to table the Approval of the Purchase of a Used Bus and Van purchase until April 15, 2019 was approved on a 7-0 vote.

The Board approved the High School Roofing Bid on a Bly/Coxworth motion. 7-0 vote.

The Board discussed the Snow Days Legislation but no motion was made.

Member F. Bly made a motion to direct administration to reduce the amount of budget adjustments for the 2019-2020 school year to approximately $425,000. Member S. Benz seconded that motion. The adjustment included keeping the .50 FTE Social Studies teacher at the High School and keeping the 2019-20 4th grade with an additional section. 6-1 vote with J. Coxworth being the dissenting vote.

On a Bly/Zierke motion, the Spring Coaching list was approved. 7-0 vote.

On a Bly/Hauskins vote the following personnel items were approved on a 7-0 vote:

On a Bly/Rosenau motion, the Resolution Discontinuing and Reducing Educational Programs and Positions was approved with the following members voting in favor thereof: S. Benz, S. Beyer, F. Bly, S. Hauskins, S. Rosenau. Members J. Coxworth and K. Zierke voted against the resolution.

The Resolution for Non-Renewal of a Teacher on a Hauskins/Zierke motion was approved with members F. Bly, S. Beyer, K. Zierke, S. Rosenau, S. Benz, S. Hauskins, and J. Coxworth all voting in favor of. Voting against: none.

On a Hauskins/Rosenau motion, the Resolution for Proposed Placement of a Teacher on Unrequested Leave of Absence was approved. Voting in favor of: S. Beyer, K. Zierke, S. Rosenau, S. Benz, S. Hauskins, J. Coxworth, F. Bly. Voting against: none.

On a Zierke/Coxworth motion, a motion to approve a used bus passed. Vote 7-0.

On a Bly/Zierke motion, the board approved the resignation of Member Jeremy Coxworth with special thank you and appreciation for his service to the district. 6-0.

The board decided to advertise for applications for vacancy of school board member with a deadline of May 10 on a Hauskins/Zierke motion. 6-0.

Member Kyle Zierke was appointed to serve on the Southern Plains Education Cooperative Board of Directors by a Rosenau/Beyer motion. 6-0.

A work session to discuss financial data as it relates to a possible operating referendum was scheduled for May 13 after the regular meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 6:22 p.m. on a Bly/Hauskins motion. Vote 6-0.

School Board MINUTES

April 15, 2019

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, April 15, 2019 in Blue Earth, MN.

Present members were S. Benz, S. Beyer, F. Bly, J. Coxworth, S. Haskins, S. Rosenau and K. Zierke. Also present were Supt. Jensen and members of the press, public, and staff.

The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. by Chair Susan Benz. The pledge was recited.

On a Bly/Rosenau motion, the Resolution Discontinuing and Reducing Educational Programs and Positions was approved with the following members voting in favor thereof: S. Benz, S. Beyer, F. Bly, S. Hauskins, S. Rosenau. Members J. Coxworth and K. Zierke voted against the resolution.

The Resolution for Non-Renewal of a Teacher on a Hauskins/Zierke motion was approved with members F. Bly, S. Beyer, K. Zierke, S. Rosenau, S. Benz, S. Hauskins, and J. Coxworth all voting in favor of. Voting against: none.

On a Hauskins/Rosenau motion, the Resolution for Proposed Placement of a Teacher on Unrequested Leave of Absence was approved. Voting in favor of: S. Beyer, K. Zierke, S. Rosenau, S. Benz, S. Hauskins, J. Coxworth, F. Bly. Voting against: none.

On a Zierke/Coxworth motion, a motion to approve a used bus passed. Vote 7-0.

The meeting adjourned at 6:30p.m. on a Hauskins /Bly motion. Vote 7-0.

Blue Earth Area

School Board MINUTES

April 29, 2019

A special meeting of the Board of Education of Blue Earth Area, I.S.D. #2860 was held on Monday, April 29, 2019 in Blue Earth, MN.

Present members were S. Benz, S. Beyer, F. Bly, S. Hauskins, S. Rosenau and K. Zierke. Also present were Supt. Jensen and members of the press, public, and staff.

The meeting was called to order at 6 p.m. by Chair Susan Benz. The pledge was recited.

On a Bly/Zierke motion, the board approved the resignation of Member Jeremy Coxworth with special thank you and appreciation for his service to the district. 6-0.

The board decided to advertise for applications for vacancy of school board member with a deadline of May 10 on a Hauskins/Zierke motion. 6-0.

Member Kyle Zierke was appointed to serve on the Southern Plains Education Cooperative Board of Directors by a Rosenau/Beyer motion. 6-0.

A work session to discuss financial data as it relates to a possible operating referendum was scheduled for May 13 after the regular meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 6:22 p.m. on a Bly/Hauskins motion. Vote 6-0.
