Joyce E. McNab, 92

(Formerly of Round Lake) Joyce Emily Ann Vihlen McNab, age 92, formerly of Round Lake died on May 7, 2020 at St. Luke's Lutheran Care Center in Blue Earth. She was born Oct. 16, 1927 to George Alfred Vihlen and Esther Victoria (Carlson) Vihlen. Joyce grew up on a farm west of Round Lake and graduated as valedictorian from Round Lake High School and then attended Mankato Teacher's College. She began her teaching career in Brewster and then taught in Round Lake. While raising her family she substitute taught and later enjoyed working in the office at Sather Cookie Company.

On a hot July 3, 1949, she and Stuart Douglas McNab were married at the Mission Covenant Church in Worthington and the enjoyed 59.5 years together.

In her younger years, Joyce was involved in PTA, was a Cub Scouts Leader, and a 4-H Clothing Leader. She was involved in the First Presbyterian Church with Circle, Women's Association, being an Elder, and helping with Bible School. Being a gardener, she belonged to the U and I Garden Club. She enjoyed being a Red Hat Lady, the American Legion Auxiliary, and exercising and coffee time at the Round Lake Senior Center.

She took great pride in making baby and graduation quilts for her grandchildren and artistically decorating grandchildren's birthday cakes.

Joyce is survived by her children: Cindy (Darrel) Peterson, Bob (Cindy) McNab, Joan Jones, and Diane (Jim) Wychor; her grandchildren: Jessica Peterson, Sara (Dan) Krueger, Kayla (Brian) Oliver, Jenna (Martin) Smith, Kyle McNab (Lauren Frank), Stuart Jones, Erin (Blake) Richner, David Wychor, James (Amber) Wychor, Adam Wychor, and Tim Wychor; great-grandchildren: Madison, Brooklyn, Teddy, Teagan, Ada Mae, Reese, JJ, and Cooper with another one expected in July.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart; her parents; brothers, Ernest and John; sister, Carol; sister-in-law, Beth Nelson; and nephew, Tony Nelson.

She will be laid to rest in the Round Lake Cemetery. Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
